Data Warehousing Specialists

Work Environment

Data warehousing specialists work in standard office settings, and enjoy the use of the latest technology and office equipment. Most work a standard 9 to 5, Monday through Friday schedule, although some may need to work at night and on weekends to meet project deadlines or address technical issues with warehouse systems. In 2014, approximately 20 percent of database administrators (a related career) worked more than 40 hours a week, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Data warehousing specialists who are employed by consulting firms may be required to travel to set up or troubleshoot systems.
