Entry-level prosecutors at the local level earned median annual salaries of $51,100 in 2014, according to the National Association for Law Placement. Those employed for five years earned $63,600, while those with 11–15 years on the job made $80,000. The association reports the following median salaries for public defenders in 2014 by level of experience: entry-level, $50,400; five years, $63,000; and 11–15 years, $84,500.
