Corporate Lawyers

Employment for lawyers is expected to grow by 6 percent from 2014 to 2024, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Job prospects for corporate lawyers should be even better. Robert Half Legal, a national staffing firm, identifies general business/corporate law as an in-demand practice area. It reports that “corporate legal departments are expanding their teams to bring more work in-house and reduce spending on outside counsel. They favor candidates who can handle a wide range of business-related legal matters, including expansion into new products and markets, executive compensation, and labor and employment disputes.” The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment for lawyers will be especially strong in the following industries through 2024: software publishers; management, scientific, and technical consulting services firms; and health care companies.
