Salaries for children's librarians depend on such factors as the size, location, and type of library; the responsibilities of the position; and the amount of experience the librarian has. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median annual earnings of all librarians, including children's librarians, in May 2015 were $56,880. Ten percent of all librarians earned less than $33,380, and 10 percent earned $86,320 or more annually. Librarians working in elementary and secondary schools earned a mean annual salary of $60,670.
