The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the median annual salary for chemical engineers was $97,360 in May 2015. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $59,470. The highest paid 10 percent earned more than $157,160 annually. Chemical engineers with doctoral degrees and many years of experience in supervisory and management positions may have salaries exceeding $175,000 annually.
