The employment outlook for business intelligence analysts is bright. Faster than average employment growth is expected through 2028, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Management analysts will have 14 percent employment growth in that time frame, with 118,300 new jobs added to the industry. Job opportunities will be especially good in health care companies. Analysts will be needed to help companies study and improve business operations in the face of federal health care reform changes and higher health care costs due to the aging population. Analysts will also be needed by information technology, human resources, and government agencies. As U.S. companies expand into global markets, more business intelligence analysis will be needed to assist in creating business strategies for foreign markets. Business intelligence is a highly competitive field. Analysts with advanced degrees, certification, specialized expertise, and who are fluent in a foreign language will have the best job prospects.
