The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $50,120 a year, while the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $125,380 per year. Salary.com reported median annual earnings of $74,469 for mid-level environmental engineers in February 2016; the lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $60,748 and the top 10 percent earned more than $91,305.
