The employment site Glassdoor.com reported annual salaries for agricultural scientists that ranged from $36,000 to $103,000 in March 2017. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, animal scientists, a type of agricultural scientist, earned median annual earnings of $61,100 in 2014, with the lowest 10 percent earning less than $37,430 and the highest 10 percent earning $123,760. Soil and plant scientists earned an average of $59,920 per year, with a range of $35,920 to $100,440. Agricultural engineers had median annual earnings of $71,730 in 2014. Salaries ranged from less than $45,940 for the lowest paid 10 percent to more than $112,700 for the highest paid 10 percent.
