Aerospace Engineers

Outlook

The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment for aerospace engineers will decline by about 2 percent through 2024. New technologies and designs for commercial and military aircraft and spacecraft will sustain demand for research and development. However, growth will be slowed by a decline in the manufacturing industries that employ many of these engineers.
