About Ds Liquidation L.P.

You might say hockey has become a star attraction on the Dallas sports landscape. The Dallas Stars professional hockey team represents the Big D in the National Hockey League, boasting one Stanley Cup championship in 1999. Dallas joined the ranks of the NHL in 1993 when then-owner Norm Green moved the team formerly known as the North Stars from Minnesota. The Stars play home games at American Airlines Center. Following several years of financial instability, Vancouver businessman Tom Gaglardi acquired the team in 2011 for an estimated $265 million.

The team's offices and practice facilities are located in Frisco, Texas. The Stars' minor league affiliate, American Hockey League team the Texas Stars, play in the Austin, Texas suburb of Cedar Park at the Cedar Park Center.

Geographic Reach

Because the Stars are the only NHL team based in Texas, their fan base covers a large geographic area. Many Stars games are televised on FOX Sports Southwest, which is a regional sports network.

Sales and Marketing

Dallas revamped its logo, overall branding, and team uniforms for the 2013-14 season. The new look features green as the dominate color and a large D as part of the Stars' logo.

Owner Gaglardi has tried to rebuild the Stars standing in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area through community outreach and discount ticket promotions. Dallas already boasts the cheapest ticket prices in the NHL.
