By providing staples, specialties, and Southern hospitality, Brookshire Grocery Co. (BCG) has grown into a chain of more than 175 grocery stores. Its store brands include Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, and FRESH by Brookshire's supermarkets in its home state of Texas, and in Arkansas and Louisiana. BGC's retail operations include 113 fuel centers and 119 in-store pharmacies. The regional grocery company also operates three distribution centers and four food and beverage manufacturing plants. The company's founder, W.T. Brookshire, opened his first store in 1928 in Tyler, Texas.
