There's no place like home for Hometown America. The company invests in and manages manufactured home parks throughout the US. Across 10 US states Hometown America owns more than 45 communities, many of which feature recreational facilities, such as swimming pools, clubhouses, and basketball courts. With California and Florida among its largest markets, Hometown America operates properties for all ages, as well as those that are targeted toward active seniors (under the Providence brand). It's expanding in California and Delaware. The company, founded in 1997, also offers home financing and insurance through agreements with third-party providers.
The company, which boasts more than 45 communities, operates through two divisions: Hometown America Family Communities and Hometown America Age-Qualified (55+) Communities. As part of its focus, Hometown America promotes and rewards energy conservation across its communities.
Chicago-based Hometown America operates its business in nearly a dozen US states, including Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. Florida and California together account for about half its locations, with Massachusetts and New Jersey each contributing another 15%.

To better serve its clients and their families, Hometown America offers a services portal on its website through which community residents can make electronic payments and gather information about insurance services.
Hometown America has benefited from the housing downturn as the demand for affordable housing has risen. To keep its homes portfolio marketable, it regularly makes renovations within its communities, as well as implements modern improvements in its home designs. Additionally, Hometown America offers standard floor plans as well as custom plans.
In recent years, Hometown America has added a handful of new communities to its portfolio. In 2013, the company expanded in Laguna Beach, California, by buying Laguna Terrace, an all-ages community comprising about 160 sites. In 2012, it also acquired New Jersey's Mays Landing, which is situated near Atlantic City, as well as Delaware's Barclay Farms, another 5-star 55+ community that's convenient to popular spots.
