About L'Oreal Usa, Inc.

L'Oréal USA, the US arm of L'Oréal (the world's top cosmetics group), boasts a host of consumer and luxury brands, including Garnier, Maybelline, Lancôme, and Kiehl's. It also owns salon professional product makers Matrix and Kérastase, as well as perfume brands Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani. The division's upscale Lancôme (makeup, skincare) and Dermablend corrective cosmetic lines are sold nationwide in department stores. Additions to its brand portfolio include Clarisonic facial cleansing device (Pacific Bioscience Labs), SkinCeuticals skincare, and nail polish maker Essie Cosmetics.

L'Oréal USA is focused on developing emerging technologies and adopting popular service models through a combination of internal development, partnerships, acquisitions, and investments.

In 2018 its public parent acquired Canadian augmented reality and artificial intelligence company ModiFace. The company's platform assesses skin and creates photo-realistic digital images of users' faces altered to display make up and colorants. The next year L'Oréal USA announced a partnership to give Amazon customers access to ModiFace's technology. It also unveiled its My Skin Track pH by La Roche-Posay prototype wearable sensor for skin pH level measurement. The company is to launch the product in 2019. The previous year it began marketing the My Skin Track UV by La Roche-Posay personal UV sensor exclusively through US Apple stores and on

L'Oréal USA made investments in five beauty technology startups in 2017 through London-based incubator Founders Factory. Those companies include online natural skincare company InsitU, automated nail art designing and printing technology company Preemadonna, branding and social media company Tailify, beauty enthusiast community app-maker Veleza, and location-based customer targeting company Cosmose.

The company hopped on the subscription product delivery service bandwagon in 2019 when it introduced Color&Co. The program connects users with stylists via video to receive hair coloring consultation; customers then receive personalized dye formulations in the mail, with the option to receive recurring shipments.
