The company is organized into three business units: Financial & Risk, Legal, and Tax & Accounting.

Financial & Risk provides critical news, information, and analytics, enabling transactions and connecting communities of trading, investment, financial, and corporate professionals. Financial & Risk also provides regulatory and operational risk management solutions.

Legal provides critical online and print information, decision tools, software, and services that support legal, investigation, business, and government professionals around the world.

Tax & Accounting provides integrated tax compliance and accounting information, software, and services for professionals in accounting firms, corporations, law firms, and government.

The company's other groups include Reuters, a leading provider of real-time, high-impact, multimedia news, and information services to newspapers, television and cable networks, radio stations, and websites around the globe.

The company's Global Growth Organization (GGO) group works across the company's business units to combine its global capabilities and expand its local presence and development in countries and regions where it believes the greatest growth opportunities exist. GGO supports the company's businesses in Latin America, China, India, the Middle East, Africa, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, North Asia, Russia, and countries comprising the Commonwealth of Independent States and Turkey. 

The company's Enterprise Technology & Operations (ET&O) group drives the transformation of the company into a more integrated enterprise by unifying infrastructure across its organization, including technology platforms, data centers, real estate, products, and services.

Financial Performance

In fiscal 2016, Thomson Reuters revenues were $11.2 billion. Revenues by business unit were: Financial & Risk–54 percent, Legal–30 percent, Tax & Accounting–13 percent, Reuters News–3 percent.

The company is focused on accelerating organic growth, improving profitability, and maintaining a consistent approach to its capital strategy in the following ways: strengthening and enabling its core; improving go-to-market capabilities; accelerating in high-growth market segments; and deploying a consistent capital strategy.
