About The Chartis Group

Founded in 2001, Chartis’ mission is to materially improve healthcare in the world. The insights and services it provides support healthcare organizations in sustaining their missions and improving the affordability, access, and effectiveness of patient care.

At the precipice of tremendous change and disruption in the healthcare industry, Chartis is helping healthcare organizations navigate this new era to not just survive but to thrive. Clients look to Chartis as they reimagine care delivery, redefine the patient journey, transform clinical and operating models for financial stability, and position for growth in the evolving health ecosystem.

Through bold thinking, incisive leadership, and powerful collaboration, Chartis helps clients pivot to new strategies and operating models. The firm calls this Next Intelligence, where leading-edge analytics and technology meet human experience and judgement.

Exclusively focused on the healthcare industry, The Chartis Group offers a unique breadth and depth of capabilities to meet healthcare’s most pressing issues.

The Chartis Group comprises Chartis Consulting, iVantage Health Analytics, The Greeley Company, and Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock. While each division operates under its unique brands, what unites Chartis’ constellation of companies is an exclusive focus on serving the healthcare industry, sterling reputations in their domains, and exceptional talent committed to improving healthcare.

Together, The Chartis Group brings an unparalleled depth of expertise in strategic planning, performance excellence, informatics and technology, digital transformation, health analytics, clinical compliance and high reliability care, and strategic communications to help leading academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, children's hospitals, and healthcare service organizations achieve transformative results.

Chartis is proud to serve 90% of the Best Hospitals Honor Roll, US News & World Report, 95% of the Top NIH-Funded Academic Health Systems, and 75% of the Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, US News & World Report. Through its Chartis Center for Rural Health, Chartis supports statewide rural health networks across 30 states.

A shared dedication

Ask anyone at Chartis about the importance of what they do, and you will hear a deep commitment to providers, clinicians, patients, the community, and each other. Chartis attracts extraordinarily talented people with healthcare in their DNA – physicians, nurses, and consultants – all brought together through a shared dedication to its core values. Chartis attracts extraordinary talent from top MBA programs, industry, and other consulting firms through its unique value proposition – at Chartis, colleagues “love what they do, love who they do it with, and love who they do it for.”

In fulfillment of its mission, Chartis is focused internally on bringing together diverse talent and perspectives and is committed externally to addressing health disparities and ensuring equal access to care for all.

In addition to its mission-driven client work, The Chartis Group supports organizations making a difference in underserved communities through Chartis Cares, a multi-faceted program in which the firm's colleagues give back to their communities through pro bono consulting, charitable athletic events, philanthropic giving, and volunteer service.

Leading the way

The Chartis Group continues to be a compelling voice on the healthcare stage, speaking and writing on topics such as financial sustainability, the provider enterprise, the health ecosystem of the future, partnerships, digital and advanced technologies, and high-reliability care. Thought leadership development is critical to the firm’s positioning – it has long been known for thought-provoking assertions on transforming healthcare and is focused on helping its clients look ahead and navigate what’s next. Early in the pandemic, Chartis established a COVID-19 Resource Center and created more than 30 pieces of content within three months to support providers as well as developed new offerings to address clients’ needs. The firm also established several external affinity groups, drawing up its deep relationships to bring together Chief Medical Officers, Chief Strategy Officers, and Chief Information Officers to share best practices and support one another through the crisis.

COVID-19 Update

As Chartis navigates the global COVID-19 health crisis, we remain committed as a firm to cultivating an environment where every colleague has the opportunity to grow, learn, and impact their clients and communities in meaningful ways. To further this mission during the pandemic we have created the Chartis HomeFront, a platform through which we connect all of our colleagues and share our respective HomeFront experiences. For instance, we’ve created new communication channels and resources including townhall forums, weekly newsletters, a work from home playbook, caregiver chats/resources, virtual happy hours, a community service interest group, virtual fitness classes, an employee-focused COVID-19 resource center and an enhanced on-demand training library.

From an external perspective, the Chartis team has rapidly mobilized to develop thought leadership, insights and new service offerings to address the acute challenges facing our healthcare clients. We are providing strategies that can be rapidly deployed to serve patients and ensure the health of the organizations we support as well as the broader healthcare industry.

Chartis’ Five Actions Toward Anti-Racism

October 2020

The Chartis mission is to materially improve healthcare delivery in the world. It is a sad truth that racism is a major factor in health disparities in our country. While our commitment to the values of Diversity and Inclusion has been foundational to our identity and ethos as a firm, we know that that is not enough. We must step up further. We have prioritized five key areas of action: Expand Black leadership in our firm; identify and address the role of racism in health disparities through our work; embed anti-racism in the culture and fabric of our firm; collaborate with other organizations in support of collective anti-racism efforts; and continue the Chartis Foundation’s work enhancing access in underserved communities.
