About Schlumberger Business Consulting

Schlumberger Business Consulting is a management consulting firm that combines a global reach with strategic and operational insight and services for the oil and gas sector. Established in 2004, SBC's stated remit is to help oil and gas companies realize performance improvements and sustained growth. The firm operates independently from oil field services giant Schlumberger, but is governed by an Advisory Board chaired by Schlumberger’s CEO.

SBC engages clients on a wide spectrum of management issues, ranging from strategy and organization to operational effectiveness. The firm uses a unique combination of management consulting skills, in addition to the technical expertise of Schlumberger.

To date, SBC has delivered more than 1,800 projects in over 40 countries for some of the world’s largest energy companies. These include 60% of the major international oil companies and 70% of the major state-owned oil companies, as well as banks, investment funds and government entities.

SBC has also established the SBC Energy Institute as a center of excellence for scientific and technological research in sustainable energy.
