With a history that dates back to 1942, Crowe LLP began as a certified public accounting firm with only two full-time employees. Crowe established its consulting group in the 1960s, and in 1991 it became a member of Horwath International, a worldwide organization of accounting and consulting firms. The affiliation increased Crowe's ability to serve clients with international needs. Formerly known as Crowe Chizek & Company, the firm changed its name in 2008 to Crowe Horwath to strengthen its alignment with Horwath International. In 2009, Horwath International changed its name to Crowe Horwath International.
