Founded in 2012, Blue Matter is a specialized management consulting firm serving the life sciences industry. The firm maintains offices across the United States and Europe.
Blue Matter works to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies "maximize value at the product, portfolio, and company levels." The firm's services can be grouped into the following categories: New Product Planning, Launch Strategy and Management, Commercial Strategy for In-Line Products, and Organizational Design and Development.
While most of Blue Matter’s work involves pre-launch and launch products, the firm does not exclusively focus there. It works across a range of therapeutic areas but has developed specialized capabilities in oncology and rare diseases.

Blue Matter Hires Chief Marketing Officer
October 12, 2020 – Blue Matter is pleased to announce that it has hired Craig Dunkley as its Chief Marketing Officer. His new role officially started on October 1 and initiates a new phase in Blue Matter’s growth.
Craig Dunkley is an experienced veteran in sales and marketing for professional services firms, especially within the life sciences. During his 26-year career, he has held marketing leadership roles in a range of companies, including Quintiles (now IQVIA) as well as Campbell Alliance and the Pharmaceutical Institute (both of which are now part of Syneos Health). For the last three years, Craig has run his own marketing firm, and Blue Matter was one of his key clients. In his new role, Craig joins Blue Matter full time as Chief Marketing Officer. He will oversee marketing for Blue Matter as well as any current and potential subsidiary organizations.
Blue Matter Ranked as One of the 25 Best Consulting Firms to Work for in Europe; Ranked #1 in Overall Business Outlook
September 24, 2019 – Blue Matter has joined the Vault Consulting 25 (Europe) for 2020, earning a ranking as one of the 25 best consulting firms to work for in Europe. Blue Matter ranked 12th overall in Europe, and 1st for Overall Business Outlook. This was the firm’s first year participating in Vault’s annual survey.
Blue Matter Ranked as One of the 50 Best Consulting Firms to Work for in North America
August 20, 2019 – Blue Matter has joined the Vault Consulting 50 for 2020, earning a ranking as one of the 50 best consulting firms to work for in North America. This was the firm’s first year participating in Vault’s annual survey. Blue Matter ranked 30th among all consulting firms surveyed. Among boutique firms, it ranked 7th.
Blue Matter Launches New Company, Salience Learning
May 1, 2019 – Blue Matter is pleased to announce the launch of a new, wholly-owned subsidiary, Salience Learning. The new company is a learning and development (L&D) firm focused on the life sciences.
The Salience Learning team includes experts in adult education, as well as life science industry veterans. Using this combination of expertise, the company applies science-based educational approaches to help life science companies solve their most complex business challenges.
Salience Learning organizes its offerings into three main groups: 1.) Custom and off-the-shelf training solutions focused on key business needs within the industry; 2.) Services to help conduct great training events and programs; and 3.) Bespoke consulting to elevate the learning of an entire organization.
