About Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP

Home to around 200 lawyers, Stradley Ronon is a BigLaw shop with what the firm describes as a “small-firm atmosphere.” The firm is headquartered in the City of Brotherly Love, but its reach is wide, with an additional seven offices across the U.S. Stradley Ronon offers a range of practices but is most well known for its bankruptcy, investment fund, and litigation work.

From PA and Beyond

With deep Pennsylvania roots, Stradley Ronan was founded in Philadelphia in 1926 by Leighton P. Stradley, Gerald Ronon and Lewis M. Stevens. Andy Young, another leading Philadelphia attorney, joined the firm as a name partner a year later. More than half of its attorneys continue to practice out of its Philly HQ, and the firm boasts two additional Pennsylvania offices. But it has grown its domestic presence over the years with offices along the East Coast in New Jersey, New York, DC, and Wilmington as well as an outpost in the Windy City.

Investment Go To

Attorneys at Stradley Ronon work across more than a dozen practices, including corporate, education, financial services, government and public affairs, health law, litigation, investment management, nonprofits, real estate, and tax, to name a handful.

The firm has a stand-out investment management group, which advises fund boards and trustees, investment advisors, insurance companies, public and private funds, and service providers, among other clients.

Stradley Ronon Is also at the top of its litigation game and has even been recognized in the past as Litigation Department of the Year by the Legal Intelligencer. Its litigators handle a range of work, including appellate litigation, cyber and privacy, employment and labor, financial services, health care, insurance, IP, products liability, white collar, and more.

Promoting Pro Bono

Pro bono doesn’t fly under the radar at Stradley Ronon. In fact, in 2019, the firm hosted its first Pro Bono Fair in its Philadelphia office through which firm attorneys could meet with representatives from various organizations to learn more about their work and the kinds of pro bono opportunities available. Among organizations the firm works with include Her Justice, Human Rights First, Ladder Up, Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, The Innocence Project, and Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund.

COVID-19 Update

Stradley Ronon is continuously monitoring all available information regarding COVID-19. Our firm citizens remain virtually engaged to serve the needs of our clients and firm community members, and our recruiting department is no exception. We are approaching both entry level and lateral recruiting through the lens of safety, adaptability, and client service. Stradley Ronon is engaging technology and personal outreach to keep our incoming talent connected to the firm and as informed as possible. Additionally, the firm is adjusting our 2020 Summer Associate Program in response to the ever-changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19 to ensure that our summer associates get a well-rounded junior associate experience by participating in meaningful work, enriching social activities, client networking, and pro bono, regardless of whether we come together in-person or online.
