We continually look for ways to help you take on sophisticated legal work early in your career.  In partnership with Columbia Business School, Simpson Thacher recently implemented STBReady, a Firm-wide immersive training program for all first-year associates. Our intense, multi-day training program exposes junior associates to a wide variety of practices and issues, as well as practice-specific content, to prepare them to excel in an ever-evolving legal field. 

Using actual transactions and disputes as case studies, STBReady provides you with:

  • Business and financial literacy training, led by Columbia Business School faculty and Simpson Thacher partners;
  • Deep industry-specific knowledge sessions led by Simpson Thacher partners and key clients of the Firm;
  • Experiential practice-specific sessions; and
  • Sessions focused on teamwork, efficiency, knowledge-sharing, technology utilization and other Simpson Thacher core values.
