Founding Four
Schnader was founded in Philadelphia in 1935 by three of today’s four named partners—including former Pennsylvania Attorney General William A. Schnader and his assistant Deputy Attorney General, Bernard G. Segal. Francis A. Lewis rounded out the trio until Earl G. Harrison joined the firm in 1948, making it a quartet. The firm was founded with a “service” mentality that remains a guiding principle to this day. The firm also boasts a historic role in the development of laws such as the Uniform Commercial Code and Uniform Probate Code.
