About Robbins Russell Englert Orseck Untereiner & Sauber LLP
Robbins Russell is a litigation boutique that concentrates on civil and criminal trial litigation, Supreme Court and appellate litigation, government investigations and enforcement proceedings, and antitrust counseling and litigation. The firm's clients include numerous Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, hedge funds, defense contractors, technology companies, major accounting firms and individual business executives and government officials.
The Fantastic Five
In 2001, four partners from Mayer Brown and a lawyer from the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division decided to launch their own firm with one focus on mind: litigation. The rest is history. Today, Robbins Russell is home to more than three dozen lawyers, all of whom practice litigation. The firm’s lawyers have tried more than 175 jury trials to verdict, and its partners have argued before SCOTUS more than 45 times.
A+ in Appellate
Litigation is the name of the game at Robbins Russell, but its practice breadth is wide. Among the areas the firm focuses on are antitrust, appellate, bankruptcy, debtor-creditor, false claims act, government contracts, IP, internal investigations, professional malpractice, securities and shareholder litigation, and white collar.
Robbins Russell is also known for its prowess in appellate litigation, including before the Supreme Court. Since its founding, the firm’s lawyers have walked away with 14 wins before SCOTUS, two losses, and one split decision. The firm doesn’t solely focus on the Supreme Court, also making frequent appearances before federal courts of appeals and state appellate courts. The firm’s appellate experience runs the gamut from bankruptcy and securities to false claims and IP to administrative law, civil rights, and criminal appeals, among many others.
Reeling in Recognitions
It may be a young firm, but Robbins Russell has gotten its share of accolades. The firm ranks among the top 20 in Vault’s Best Litigation Boutique Law Firms. It has also been recognized by the likes of BTI Consulting Group, Benchmark Litigation, Law360, and The American Lawyer. And its lawyers have been noticed by such publications as Chambers, Legal 500, and Super Lawyers and honored as Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers.
