About the Firm

Founded in New York City in 1909, the firm of Otterbourg, Steindler & Houston got its start representing major textile companies, and participating in numerous insolvency cases in that industry. After riding out the Great Depression and bringing some new partners aboard, the firm changed its name to Otterbourg, Steindler, Houston & Rosen in 1946.

By the 1980s, the firm had evolved into a financial services specialization, advising leading institutions on complex lending transactions and arrangements. One of the first law firms to create a corporate restructuring department, they have also leaned in to the ongoing proliferation of cross-border transactions, creating a network of practitioners around the world to allow clients to work with the best in all relevant countries.
