About Moses & Singer LLP
New York-based Moses & Singer is a full-service firm with a range of practices, including corporate, M&A, sports and entertainment law, intellectual property, internet and technology, and health care. The firm has three offices—one in New Jersey and two in New York—from which it represents institutional clients in banking, finance, and industry as well as individual clients in need of personal counsel.
A Tale of Two Henrys
In 1919, New York lawyers Henry Singer and Henry Moses launched the law firm that is still Moses & Singer over a century later. Singer, who specialized in corporate, banking, and bankruptcy law, went on to also serve as director of the Public National Bank and Trust Company of New York. Moses also served for a spell as director for the Trust Company and was active on Jewish philanthropic committees. In addition to its East Coast offices, the firm has connections across the U.S. and worldwide through MSI Global Alliance, a consortium of 250 law and accounting firms in 27 states and more than 100 countries.
Combining BigLaw Experience with an Entrepreneurial Spirit
Moses & Singer represents a variety of clients across such industries as banking and finance, media, real estate, health care, technology, and more. Middle-market companies and entrepreneurial firms call on the firm for help in building their businesses, establishing key contacts, navigating complex corporate transactions, and asserting their rights in the event of litigation. The firm rounds out its complete menu of services with estate planning and family law practices for wealthy individual clients.
Moses & Singer has also found itself filling gaps in some pretty unique areas of the law. For example, it has a Promotions Law group that focuses solely on helping companies conduct games of chance or skill to promote their businesses. Clients requiring these services include advertising and marketing agencies, social media specialists, publishers, telemarketers, and internet advertisers. Another Moses & Singer niche is web accessibility, which is an area of law that has seen an uptick in lawsuits in recent years. With a heavy focus on Title III of the ADA, the group counsels clients through the process of creating websites that are accessible to people with disabilities.
Philanthropic Past and Present
Beginning with Mr. Moses himself, the firm has a lasting public service tradition—for starters, the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund has awarded millions of dollars to various New York charities. Nowadays, the firm’s partners endow multiple chairs at Columbia Law School and support a myriad of organizations such as the Center Against Domestic Violence, the Maurer Foundation, the Educational Alliance, the White Institute, and the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The firm’s belief in doing the right thing also extends into legal ethics, with a partner serving as Chair of the Committee on Professional Discipline of the New York City Bar Association.
