Experienced Guidance

Your best teachers were probably those who were authorities in their areas, enjoyed their jobs, and conveyed their enthusiasm in the classroom. Similarly, you’ll find our partners and senior attorneys to be excellent teachers. You’ll work closely with more senior attorneys in your practice group on complex matters. They’ll guide you in developing your practice skills and help you build long-lasting client relationships.

Continuous Training

MoFo associates work on cutting-edge deals and disputes from day one. We believe in lean staffing to promote efficiency and a steep learning curve for junior lawyers. We don’t have a set timetable or hierarchy for associate responsibility. We encourage our attorneys to take as much responsibility as they can handle in their assignments, and also encourage supervising attorneys to provide the most challenging and varied assignments.

Candid Feedback

We’re strongly committed to a robust evaluation process. We evaluate attorney performance regularly, providing candid feedback to assist you in developing your strengths or addressing any areas of concern.

Dynamic Mentorship and Sponsorship Programs

MoFo Navigate is a global initiative that unifies the firm’s formal mentoring and sponsorship initiatives, allowing us to take a more holistic approach to our attorneys’ professional growth. Under MoFo Navigate, attorneys are given the right kind of support and guidance at the right points in their careers. By encouraging collaboration and leveraging insights across departments and offices, and over the course of each attorney’s career, MoFo Navigate creates a support system dynamic enough to respond to the changing needs of all our attorneys as they grow and develop.

MoFo Navigate is also uniquely and specifically designed to promote greater equity and inclusion, and train both mentors and mentees on the root causes of attrition and how to mentor more effectively across differences.

MoFo Navigate has five levels in the United States:

  • Welcome: Associate Liaison Program (Orientation to 6 months)
  • Integrate: Pathway Mentoring Program (6 to 24 months)
  • Develop: Affinity Mentoring Programs (Year 2+)
  • Advance: Sponsorship Initiative (Year 5+)
  • Support: New Diverse and Women Partner Liaison Program (First year in the partnership)
