About Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP
From an eight-attorney Atlanta real estate outfit, Morris, Manning & Martin has grown to become a reputable regional player in the Southeast with some international flex, particularly in China and Brazil.
In 1976, eight Atlanta lawyers formed a small firm dedicated to real estate and litigation. Over the next few decades, MMM grew in size and practice area breadth until it broke into the largest 200 firms in the country in 2005. The firm’s wide-ranging practices include employment, environmental, IP, middle-market M&A, REITs, tax, and venture capital and emerging companies.
MMM is known for its strong trade group and has also turned heads with its corporate department, boasting a strong public securities offerings resumé. The firm’s corporate team is strong in venture capital as well, averaging about 50 VC deals annually and playing a constant role in Atlanta's ever-developing tech industry. MMM’s international practice, bolstered by a contingent of Chinese-speaking staff, claims to have filed one in ten of every U.S. patents filed by Chinese companies.
Most law firms give back to the community, but MMM takes it one step further with its social responsibility strategy. The firm’s MMMPact committee oversees five programs aimed at the community around it and its own internal community: civic leadership initiative, community involvement initiative, diversity initiative, pro bono initiative, and women’s initiative.
