Summer Experience
We offer an innovative work experience for second-year law students and select first-year students through our Diversity Fellowship and Intellectual Property Fellowship programs across our US offices in major markets. Our summer experience combines challenging, hands-on work with Morgan Lewis clients with targeted professional development, training, and engaging social activities that provide opportunities to build relationships at the firm.
The Summer Program begins with an in-person kickoff event where firm leaders and all summer associates come together for a multiday orientation and training program. We pride ourselves on being committed to learning and development and that begins on day one of your career with us. We have hosted the Summer Program Kickoff in many places, from the beaches of Santa Monica to downtown Brooklyn, to the windy city of Chicago and historic Boston. Wherever we gather, the goal remains the same: to introduce our summer associates to our firm, our unique culture, and our enthusiasm for working together.
We continue to offer an innovative, immersive summer experience each day you are with us. We combine challenging client work, targeted professional development and engaging social activities so that our summer associates have opportunities to meaningfully interact with our lawyers and with one another. Summer associates are engaged in real-life work experience and pro bono matters, working with attorneys on assignments that include but are not but limited to shadowing, drafting, and researching interesting client matters across our practice areas. Along with actual work assignments, summer associates participate in numerous trainings and skills workshops that further show our commitment to providing our summer associates with career development opportunities. Students are also provided with caring associate and partner mentors who offer guidance throughout the 10-week program. Lastly, summer associates are given the experience to bond with each other and our colleagues at exciting social events. Past events included Ed Sheeran and Drake concerts, cooking glasses, major league baseball games, a magic show, bowling, darts and more!
