Virtual Experience Programs. Latham is excited to launch two Virtual Experience Programs (VEP) to help you learn more about life at Latham and the work that we do. VEP participants complete an online internship, which allows them to receive feedback on simulated legal tasks and gain real-world experience.

Summer Program. Latham's Summer Program gives you a sense of life as a junior associate at the firm. As a summer associate, you will participate in the firm's Unassigned Program, have an assigned mentor, network and build relationships, and attend Summer Academy—a highlight of the firm's summer program—where you will join Latham summer associates from across the firm's US, London, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.

2L M&A Scholars Program. The Latham & Watkins M&A Scholars Program gives enterprising US law students a chance to be a part of one of the world’s leading M&A practices. As an M&A Scholar, you’ll work closely with our lawyers as they advise on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions across a range of industries, gaining an understanding of substantive legal issues and market trends that impact global deal-making.

2L White Collar Defense Scholars Program. The Latham & Watkins White Collar Defense Scholars Program gives enterprising US law students a chance to work at one of the world’s leading White Collar Defense & Investigations practices. Our White Collar Defense lawyers include regulatory practitioners, career defense advocates, and former high-ranking members of the government. You’ll receive practical, hands-on training, and be a part of a highly talented, cross-border team, which is experienced in every substantive area, from securities regulation to healthcare fraud to export controls to data privacy and security.

Learn more about our 2L M&A and White Collar Defense Scholars Programs in this recent Vault Career Advice Blog post.

1L Fellowship Program. A unique employment opportunity for students who have just finished their first year of law school. Our 1L Fellows spend half their summer in one of our US offices and the other half in house with a client.

2L Diversity Scholars Program. A progressive scholarship of $25,000 (less applicable taxes and withholdings) for select second-year law students. As a 2L Diversity Scholar, you will receive $10,000 upon starting as a summer associate at Latham & Watkins and the balance of $15,000 upon starting as a full-time associate at the firm.

Diversity Leadership Academy. Join other talented first-year law students from across the US as well as Latham lawyers from around the globe, with a specific focus on developing and empowering future leaders of the legal profession and creating community among the firm's lawyers, recruits, and 1L guests.

Judicial Clerks. Latham values your experience as a judicial clerk, and they reward it. Generally, as a clerk from a qualified court, you are eligible for progression credit plus a competitive bonus.

Ron Brown Scholars Pre-Law Fellowship.  For Ron Brown Scholars Program (RBS) members already on the path to law school, we have developed a Latham & Watkins/Ron Brown Scholars Pre-Law Fellowship, which provides RBS graduates who are entering law school with the opportunity to intern in our Boston, Chicago, New York, or Washington, D.C. offices alongside our summer associates, participate in networking and training events (including attending Summer Academy), and gain practical law firm experience. We also sponsor participation in a Law Preview training course for the Fellows, providing them with additional tools to help ensure their success in law school.

Law Preview Scholarship Program. As a student admitted to a select number of law schools, earn a scholarship to attend Law Preview’s week-long preparation course to help guide you on the road to success.

Sponsors for Education Opportunity Internships. Latham partners with the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) to provide internships for talented, underrepresented students of color who have been accepted to top US law schools, giving you an opportunity to work for and learn about the firm.
