DC Litigation Connoisseurs
Hollingsworth LLP was founded in 1982 by Joe G. Hollingsworth, and in a few short decades, it quickly rose to become one of the top litigation firms in the country. Hollingsworth LLP has several precedent-setting cases under its belt and has made the National Law Journal's "Midsize Hot List" multiple times. Its attorneys are consistently recognized by publications like Chambers USA, US News & World Report, Law360, and more. Not to mention, the firm is among one of the top Litigation Boutiques in Vault’s ranking.
Practicing across more than a dozen practice areas, Hollingsworth is a litigation shop, with experience ranging from amicus briefing to white collar defense. The firm is known for its work in the pharmaceutical industry. Hollingsworth LLP played an integral role in one of the most significant products liability cases of the 21st century—the "Parlodel® trilogy," which related to the drug Parlodel®. The firm doesn’t merely show off its experience in the courtroom, however—it has hosted the Annual Seminar on Complex Litigation Defense for more than two decades.
The firm is also recognized for its products liability and toxic torts work. Matters focus on such areas as chemicals, consumer products, hazardous waste, pesticides, and petroleum products—to name some. The firm also works with its clients to avoid tort exposure through such means as insurance coverage and records retention. Also, for more than 30 years, the Hollingsworth LLP has hosted the Annual Seminar on Complex Litigation Defense.
If you share founder Joe Hollingsworth's alma mater, you just may be in luck. Mr. Hollingsworth created the Joe G. Hollingsworth Scholarship Fund—now known as the Hollingsworth Family Endowed Scholarship Fund—for Georgetown University Law Center students in 2005 to "further the development of future leaders in the area of law" and allow students who need financial assistance to pursue their education at an institution with "strong educational values."
The firm has worked with law schools’ “virtual” programs for summer associate recruiting. In 2020-2021, we interviewed via Zoom (or other recruiting platforms) students from The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, William & Mary, American University, and the University of Virginia. We have also interviewed via Zoom in our lateral-attorney recruiting efforts. We have found that virtual interviews provide an excellent opportunity for more of our attorneys to become involved in recruiting efforts, to the benefit of the interviewee and the interviewer. This approach has been successful and will continue as long as in-person interviews are proscribed.
