Fenwick’s nationally-recognized pro bono program includes civil rights, child advocacy, immigration and political asylum work, as well as impact litigation and death penalty cases. Every year, our lawyers donate over 3 percent of their total billable hours — valued at over $10 million — to pro bono legal services. To encourage pro bono legal services, Fenwick recognizes all approved pro bono work as billable hours for all purposes for non-partner attorneys.

Diversity is also a core component of Fenwick’s culture. We actively promote an open and inclusive work environment and commit substantial resources toward improving our diversity efforts at every level. We actively recruit diverse attorneys – race, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, geographic/cultural background – through numerous channels, including on-campus initiatives, minority bar associations and job fairs. The support and professional development of women in law is another core value of the firm’s culture. Fenwick is proud to have achieved Mansfield Certification Plus from Diversity Lab for reaching at least 30% diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles and committees. Once onboard, Fenwick’s nationally-lauded mentoring programs center on integrating new lawyers into the firm quickly and successfully, as well as providing support and career guidance for mid-level and senior associates, focusing on areas including practice group specialization and client development.
