About Day Pitney LLP

Tops in Connecticut

In 2007 Connecticut's largest and most profitable law firm (Day, Berry & Howard) merged with one of New Jersey's largest and oldest (Pitney Hardin) to become Day Pitney, with nine offices along the Northeast Corridor. Founded as an insurance defense firm in 1896, Day Berry weathered the recession of the 1970s by diversifying its practice. Thanks in part to its niche representing clients among the many high-tech companies based in Boston and Hartford, Day Pitney topped the Connecticut Law Tribune's list of the most profitable in the state.

Commitment to Public Service

The Day Pitney Foundation has been active for more than 30 years. The foundation sponsors local projects in law and education, and coordinates community and pro bono efforts both within and outside of the firm. Day Pitney is a founding signatory of the American Bar Association's Pro Bono Challenge. Other pro bono affiliations include Lawyers for Children America, the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut, the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Legal Project, the Court-Appointed Special Advocate Program and the Human Rights Asylum Program
