About Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP
Bell Nunnally was founded in 1980 and continues to operate out of a single location in Dallas, Texas. The firm is one of the largest in Texas, with more than 60 attorneys in its ranks.
Roots with Reach
Bell Nunnally is a presence in the Lone Star state, as one of the 25 largest firms in North Texas and one of the 60 largest in the entire state. But the firm’s work extends beyond state lines—it serves clients across the country in such wide-ranging areas as appellate, bankruptcy, corporate and securities, entertainment, health care, immigration, IP, labor and employment, litigation, M&A, private clients, real estate, tax, and white collar. Its clients include Best Buy, Domino's Pizza, JPMorgan Chase, Nordstrom, and Public Storage, just to name a few.
Bell Nunnally is known for its real estate work, assisting clients in the development stage, as well as with leasing, acquisitions, and financing. Bell Nunnally lawyers wear many hats and counsel their real estate clients on energy issues, tax questions, and troubled real estate interests. Going hand in hand with its real estate practice is the firm’s commercial finance group, which takes a multi-disciplinary approach. The firm’s experience ranges from helping clients with financing to representing clients on the purchase of loan portfolios to advising on creditor’s rights to representing clients in credit facilities—and everything in between.
The firm also boasts a robust litigation department—its litigators advise clients in such areas as antitrust, bankruptcy, health care, IP, employment, product liability, shareholder disputes, and trade secrets, to name a handful. The firm’s white collar practice, staffed with former federal prosecutors and government regulators, is noteworthy for its robust experience across a variety of subject matters—from health care fraud to public corruption. The group handles federal criminal and enforcement matters, federal and state administrative actions, internal investigations, and corporate compliance issues. And the firm stays attuned to its clients’ budgets, staffing cases thoughtfully and leanly to achieve cost effectiveness.
Doing Good for Dallas
Bell Nunnally partners with a number of organizations serving the Dallas community and beyond, including the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP); the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI); Texas Appleseed, a public interest center that focuses on changing law and policies affecting Texans; and The Buried Alive Project, which focuses on criminal life sentences without parole under federal drug laws. The firm has an active Pro Bono Committee that facilitates these opportunities for attorneys to maintain an active pro bono practice.
