The name Lincoln was suggested by Fort Wayne, Ind., attorney Perry Randall, who felt it would help the company to convey an overall spirit of integrity. In the late 1990s, Lincoln Financial relocated from Indiana to Philadelphia and gained a series of acquisitions during the 2000s. Today, it is headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania.
