The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) just wants the facts of US agriculture production. The Department of Agriculture division conducts surveys and prepares reports covering a wide gamut of issues related to agriculture production. Such surveys can touch on food and fiber supplies, farm labor and wages, farm finances, chemical use, and demographic changes. US, state, and county-level agricultural statistics are published by the NASS, as well as maps of crop county estimates for acreage and yield. The NASS also publishes a census of agriculture every five years.
