On the road again
-- the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) wants to make sure you're safe when you get
on the road again
by ensuring that US highways and public roads are in good shape and technologically up to date for your travel. The agency, which is part of the US Department of Transportation, offers funding and technical support for the construction and preservation of highways across the nation. FHWA's more than $51 billion budget provides support for local and state governments, as well as national parks, national forests, Indian lands, and other federally owned land. The organization receives funding from fuel and motor vehicle excise taxes. FHWA has field offices throughout the US.
