About Atom Bank
Atom Bank was founded in 2013 by current CEO Mark Mullen and Anthony Thomas, who had previously founded Metro Bank. The company obtained its banking license in 2015 and acquired a substantial investment from Spanish bank BBVA. In April 2016, Atom Bank saw a limited launch of its mobile app for those who showed early interest in the company, and by October of the same year the company had a full-scale launch.
Aton Bank offers products and services such as personal banking accounts, business accounts, mortgages, and a mobile app for both iOS and Android operating systems. Its main headquarters is located in Durham, England, and many career opportunities at the firm offer the option of working remotely, such as software engineering. Atom Bank also offers contract work in addition to its more traditional permanent, full-time opportunities.
Atom Bank has partnered with The Prince’s Trust to help equip young people with STEM and digital literacy skills in an effort to combat youth unemployment in the U.K. The partnership takes inspiration from will.i.am’s I.am.angel foundation in the U.S., which has built successful STEM programs.
