About Acorns

Acorns was founded by Walter Cruttenden and his son Jeffrey Cruttenden in 2014. Upon launch, the service was made available as a mobile app for iOS and Android devices, costing only $1 for its services. Shortly after its inception, Acorns acquired the retirement startup Vault. This allowed the company to expand its product offerings with personal banking and retirement funds. Acorns main corporate office is located in Irvine, California.

Through its app, Acorns offers an array of financial services, including personal banking, investments, IRAs, stock trading, and bonds. Prospective employees will find exciting opportunities in design, copywriting, software engineering, legal, financial analytics, marketing, and more. It is worth noting that all opportunities provide the option of working remotely, which is a highly attractive perk.

Acorns partners with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization that plants trees all around the world in an effort to sustain the environment and fight climate change. The partnership focuses on planting oak trees in America in an effort to restore areas affected by forest fires and floods. In addition to stabilizing the climate, this effort creates jobs and helps rebuild and maintain biodiversity. To date, Acorns has managed to plant 438,000 oak trees across America.
