Yardi is not a company to leave an emerging area of real estate alone, especially if its a growing area. The company has plunged into the coworking space by buying two companies that provide software tools for managing shared work environments. Yardi''s own report on coworking spaces in the top 20 US markets called it a small, but growing segment of the office market.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Yardi uses acquisitions to expand its product lines to suit the changing needs of its clients.

In 2018 Yardi acquired Phoenix Broadband Ltd., a firm specializing in infrastructure and hardware technology for shared workspaces. Phoenix's Medusabusiness service helps manage technology resources -- networks, WiFi, and the like -- in a shared workspace.

In 2017 Yardi bought Wun Systems, which develops a workspace management platform that helps property owners optimize shared workspaces. Wun's package includes software, hardware, and support services.
