About Gusto

San Francisco-based Gusto was founded in 2012 by current CEO Joshua Reeves and Edward Kim, and officially launched its services the same year in California. Gusto offered the unique feature of supporting contract workers on its platform, which other payroll software companies didn’t offer at the time. This gave Gusto an early advantage and contributed to its growth. By 2015, the company announced support for all 50 states in the U.S.

Today, Gusto provides a variety of employer and payroll services, including software setup, human resources services, employee benefits, and employee time tracking. Those looking to start a career with Gusto will find openings in each of its locations in San Francisco, Denver, and Manhattan. Additionally, certain positions offer the option of working remotely. Rewarding career paths are available in customer experience, data science, engineering, finance, HR, marketing, product management, sales, security, and more.

Gusto’s core values include instilling an ownership mentality, doing the right thing, going the extra mile, not optimizing for the short term, and being transparent. It is committed to being an inclusive employer and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified associates with disabilities as well as associates who are disabled veterans. It considers applicants with criminal histories, within reason and in compliance with the law. Gusto’s long list of employee benefits and perks includes month-long sabbaticals after five and 10 years, family planning, and a flexible PTO policy.
