“Overview of working for Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, California”
September 2018FORMER EMPLOYEE
Uppers
Great people, challenging semiconductor test engineering projects, worked hard and played hard! Was given managerial responsibility and training after only 2 years as a Product Engineer, in the Microprocessor organization.
Downers
Defending annual reviews of my staff was challenging at first, until I learned the ropes. Managers had to come prepared with multiple achievements, and deliver them in stages as required during the meeting with other managers, to show my engineers and technicians went above and beyond what others had done.
Advice to Candidates
While Intel is a tough place to work, in my opinion it is worth the effort. You will be surrounded by professionals from the top universities around the world, and from many different countries. So a few years at Intel can provide contacts that can help you professionally for your lifetime.
