Growing company with willingness to invest when necessary. Incompetent management with no prior experience can be your boss which may make your life easier (but work more difficult)Downers
Japanese managements rotate in and out every two to three years. When a new management gets installed, they tend to hire new senior managers (usually from other second tier firms ) which tend to cascade down to VP level personnel change every few years.
Slow decision making process as expected from Japanese management.
Less committed Japanese employees who tend to expect to get moved out to a new team in two three years and are less motivated to go extra miles
Incompetency is expected from colleagues compared to other banks.
Compensation below industry peers.Advice to Candidates
Culture may be different for every overseas securities offices.
Word of wisdom, at any cost, stay away from the Tokyo Headquarter unless you are very familiar with the Japanese office culture and willing to work for literally half the salary of overseas offices. Then, try to stay away from overseas offices that are in red (which filters out all overseas Mizuho Securities offices except for the NY office)
