Depending on your manager, you may have the opportunity to take on responsibility early. This is helpful for having meaningful accomplishments to add to your resume - so you can leave as fast as possible.
Downers
Terrible systems. "It's always been done that way" mentality. Low pay relative to peers. HR is awful since the acquisition of Union Bank. Extremely sexist promotion policy - over 90% of MDs are white men (actual statistic, not just a ballpark).
Advice to Candidates
Not a friendly place for women or minorities.
Only positive is that it's a Japanese bank so unlike American firms, there is a pension plan.
