“Wealth Management Banking Associate”
April 2019FORMER EMPLOYEE
Uppers

Benefits — ie retirement, child care credits, health insurance, etc.

Variety of professional development opportunities — ie online courses, group bi-weekly phone calls with biz development coaches, weekly in person classroom discussions, exam prep assistance re: FINRA licenses.

Downers

Low base pay and ambiguous goals / metrics re: commissions(if any). No commission for banning products — even if you bring in $50 M your first year as wealth management associate.

Advice to Candidates

Unless you strictly want to be a financial advisor, I would pursue other opportunities within bank and/or pre-plan jumping onto an established team with specific role and metics defined (ie client management, business development, banking products, trust & estates, etc.).
