Trident Seafoods is a vertically integrated seafood business that hauls in salmon, cod, crab, and assorted other fin- and shellfish from the icy waters of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. It then processes and cans or freezes them for retail food and foodservice customers. The company's offerings include -- through brands such as Trident, Louis Kemp, Royal Pink, and Sea Alaska -- burgers, frozen filets, fishsticks, cuts and bites, and even surimi (crab-flavored processed fish) noodles. It also owns Pure Alaska Omega fish oils. Trident has a fleet of processing boats and trawlers, as well as onshore processing plants. Its products are available primarily in the US, but also in select markets in Asia and Europe.
Trident Seafoods provides harvesting, processing, and marketing of seafood products, including seabass, cod, crab, flounder/sole, halibut, lobster, mahi, pollock, rockfish, salmon, shrimp, steelhead trout, swordfish, tilapia, tuna, and wahoo. In addition to Trident, its host of brand names include Faust, Rubinstein, Royal Red, Whitney's, and Prelate.
With headquarters in Seattle, Trident Seafoods has plants across Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, as well as one each in Minnesota and Georgia. In addition to the US, the company serves markets in China, Japan, Germany, and other parts of Europe.

Trident Seafoods serves supermarkets, warehouse clubs, and other retailers; restaurants; and foodservice providers in such industries as education, healthcare, travel and leisure, and lodging. It also offers its food products, and sells clothing, merchandise, and seasonal products online.

In 2019 the company introduced several new products centered around Alaska pollock (a white fish in the cod family), including award-winning Alaska Pollock Protein Noodles and Entree Redi pollock filets.
Geographically, Trident has its eye on growth opportunities in Asia. It already has an established presence in China and Japan, but has opened offices in Thailand, Vietnam, and South Korea to better serve Southeast Asia.
Trident Seafoods traces its history to the early 1970s when Chuck Bundrant, Kaare Ness, and Mike Jacobson pooled their resources to build a boat -- the Billikin -- that featured crab cookers and freezing equipment onboard. The three eventually joined with Edd Perry, who owned the Bellingham-based company San Juan Seafoods. Bundrant became CEO of the newly formed Trident Seafoods; his son Joe now serves as CEO of the family-owned company.
