Scotch & Gulf Lumber grows timber and produces wood products at mills and treating facilities in Fulton, Jackson, and Mobile, Alabama. The company manufactures lumber, plywood, millwork, and other building materials from a variety of native species. It also imports wood and wood products. Scotch & Gulf Lumber was formed by the 2009 merger of two Alabama-based firms: Scotch Lumber and Gulf Lumber. The Stimpson family, who had owned Gulf, owns half of the combined firm; cousins Dwight "Chip" Harrigan and Tom O'Melia, former owners of Scotch Lumber, hold the other half. Together, the families own thousands of acres of timberland in southwestern Alabama.
