About Kaman Aerospace Corporation
Kaman Aerospace is best known for its Super Seasprite (SH-2G) and K-MAX Aerial Truck helicopters, but it does much more than make maritime and large transport helicopters. The subsidiary of Kaman Corporation includes Kaman Aerospace and K-MAX Corporation. Its aerospace offerings include electro-optic devices (light detection and ranging systems), fuzes and safety systems (munitions safing and arming devices), aircraft components (wing structures, engine doors, and machined parts), rugged memory systems (disk and solid state), aerospace bearings (Kamatics), and non-contact position measuring systems (used to measure alignment, thickness, dimensions, pressure, and vibration).
Kaman Aerospace, part of Kaman Aerospace Group, comprises Brookhouse Holdings, Kamatics, Plastic Fabricating Company, and RWG Frankenjura. In late 2010 Kaman Aerospace Group acquired Global Aerosystems for approximately $20 million.
Sales and Marketing
Global Aerosystems provides engineering design analysis for a slate of blue chip customers, many of whom are also Kaman's, such as
Kaman Aerospace Corporation's parent company's aerospace segment revenue increased by 6% in fiscal 2012 compared to the previous fiscal period.
As a part of its strategy of expanding its product offering, product development, and concentrating on lean manufacturing techniques, the Kaman Helicopters Division of Kaman Aerospace Corporation continues to develop new unmanned air crafts.
In 2013, Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, a subsidiary of the Aerospace Group, planned to open a new manufacturing facility in Höchstadt, Germany to accommodate Kaman's RWG business. The Höchstadt facility is expected to be fully operational in 2014.
