About Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Inc.

Just making good ads doesn't seem to be enough for this firm. Goodby, Silverstein & Partners is one of the premier names in advertising with a long heritage of cutting edge and effective creative work. Perhaps best known for the "Got Milk" campaign (produced for the California Milk Processors), the agency has also worked for blue chip brands such as Häagen-Dazs, Hewlett-Packard, and Saturn. In addition to traditional ad work, Goodby, Silverstein offers interactive and brand promotion services. Co-chairmen Rich Silverstein and Jeff Goodby started the company in 1983; it operates today as a subsidiary of advertising services conglomerate Omnicom Group.

Geographic Reach

The company is based in San Francisco, California. It also has an office in New York City.

Strategy

At the beginning of the online advertising boom, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was one of the first traditional agencies that quickly embraced the new interactive media. One reason for its success is that instead of maintaining a separate "interactive" division, the company integrated all its new media operations into one big creative department. The synergy allows the agency to approach clients with a more cohesive campaign, whether using the Internet, television, radio, or print to promote its clients' marketing messages.
