Are U.S. employers finally taking work-life balance seriously? Are American workers more productive on a per-hour basis than their peers in other countries? Or is there something else behind the chart below, courtesy of Statista, which demonstrates that--when it comes to the percentage of its population pulling 60+ hour weeks at work--the US is close to the bottom of the OECD list.

Make no mistake: as an employee, this is a list you want your country to be at the bottom of--provided that there enough jobs to go around. Add it to the low unemployment rate and unexpectedly strong wage growth that we've been seeing lately, and it's another sign that the balance of power in the economy at present is tilted towards workers.
