Writing a blog called "Pink Slipped," it's probably inevitable that you spend more time than is healthy thinking about the recession. When you spend the amount of time we do trying to find silver linings and glimmers of hope amidst the tsunami of bad news, you get to know your enemy pretty intimately.

So far, the media's done a pretty good in branding that enemy ("The Great Recession"), giving it a tagline ("The worst economic downturn since the Great Depression…"), and even sorting out corporate sponsors for it ("…brought to you by Bear Stearns/Lehman Brothers/the subprime mortgage industry").

In fact, if it were a marketing event, the recession would surely be one of the most successful in history: people all over the world have spoken of almost nothing else for months now. There is, however, one thing missing from the recession coverage that no true advertising campaign should be without: a theme song. Something that captures the spirit of the times, and really speaks to the values that got us to where we are today. With that in mind, I'd like to offer a few suggestions for titles sums up the times we're living through, and what it feels like to be living through them. I'm sure, though, that there are much better—and funnier—suggestions out there. If you can think of any, click the comment field and give it your best shot.
