Monday provided some potential short-term relief, as we relayed the news about the possibility of an extension of unemployment benefits in more than two dozen states (pending Congressional approval).
Tuesday, the secret code in reference to our Job Resource of the Week was Meet the Feds. We told you about a vanishing breed (COOs), and how CFOs are forestalling their extinction. We also provided a snapshot, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, of one accidental TV star who dug a truly unique career path for himself.
After all that activity, on Wednesday we kept it simple with a tally of regional job fairs through the end of the month.
Yesterday, we offered up a sort-of Googling video encyclopedia (via YouTube) in our Stump the Intern column. (Complemented by the fun 'How to Search for Jobs on Twitter' clip from earlier today.) Also on Thursday --is a trend this week? -- we gave you a peek (and a truly bizarre-looking pic) at someone who invented a new job for himself.*
Not counting today's posts, which should still be easily accessible, that's four days, or 36 work hours, or 20 posts (including our regular Today's Jobs, Job Fair, and Latest Jobs from Twitter features), smashed down into just 170 words, a handful of videos and photos, and various assorted links. Kind of like how Stephen Colbert condenses the day's events into 22 minutes. We do it better, though.
May your weekend be both smashing and un-smashable.

* Note: The story takes place in Germany, where folks take kindly to sausages of all kinds. In the U.S., hordes of people are likely to run screaming from wursts, especially if they come out of a contraption like that -- you've gotta come up with something else. Besides…having a gas grill strapped to you is probably a recipe for disaster, right?
